There is no single price list for the waterfalls around Ubud. The Tegenungan waterfall entrance fee, the Kanto Lampo ticket and the Sekumpul gate each come from a dated source, and this page names the date, the publisher and the gap.

Main points first

  • TegenunganIn November 2024 detikBali listed Rp20,000 a person, with parking at Rp5,000 a car and hours from 06:30 to 18:30 WITA.1,2
  • Kanto LampoThe official site lists Rp25,000 a person for weekday visits with no booking needed.3
  • TibumanaA magazine describes a IDR 10,000 contribution fee at the car park shack.4
  • SekumpulA national news site reports Rp10,000 domestic and Rp20,000 foreign at the gate.5
  • PlusOn top, visitors from abroad pay the Bali levy of Rp 150,000 once per trip.6

Why one price list does not exist

Most of these waterfalls are run by a village, a customary community or a private manager, not by a government agency with a posted tariff. The Love Bali destination pages for Tegenungan, Banyumala, Tukad Cepung and Sekumpul describe the falls and give an address, but none of them lists an entrance fee or opening hours.7,8,9,10

Fees therefore come from the managers' own sites, from magazines and from news reports, each with a date. detikBali, whose November 2024 list gives several fees, warns that fees, hours and travel times can differ depending on repairs by the managers and on how fast you drive.11,2

Read every figure on this page as a dated report, not as a promise. The page names the publisher and the month so that you can see how old each number is, and the tour listings further down show what a booking may already include. The sums are small next to a day's transport, but they add up across a route of three falls and a temple, and they are paid in rupiah, usually in cash.

Tegenungan: the waterfall entrance fee and hours

For Tegenungan, the most recent figure we hold is from November 2024, when detikBali listed the waterfall as open daily from 06:30 to 18:30 WITA.1 The same list gave Rp20,000 per person for the main ticket, Rp20,000 per person for the upper level and Rp5,000 per car for parking.2 The Tegenungan waterfall opening hours were the same every day of the week in that list.1

An earlier report from ANTARA Bali, in February 2022, said entry was Rp10,000 for domestic visitors and Rp20,000 for foreign visitors, with free entry for residents of Sukawati village.15 The foreign figure is the same as two years later, which is a better sign of stability than a single source would be.

The same ANTARA report says the waterfall is run by the local customary village, the desa adat, and employs 70 workers, all residents.16 That is why the money goes to the village and why the exact sums are a village decision, not a tourism-board tariff. Ask at the ticket window before you queue for the stairs, and keep the ticket, since Tegenungan lists a separate ticket for its upper level.2

What the latest reports ask at the gate

  • TibumanaRp10,000
  • TegenunganRp20,000
  • SekumpulRp20,000
  • Kanto LampoRp25,000
  • Goa GajahRp50,000
  • Tirta EmpulRp50,000
  • Monkey ForestRp130,000

Each is the figure that one dated source reports; Tibumana is a contribution and Tirta Empul is Rp75,000 on the ministry's other page.4,2,5,3,17,13,14,18

Kanto Lampo, Tibumana and the smaller falls

Kanto Lampo is the one fall in this group with an official site. It lists the entrance fee at Rp25,000 per person for weekday visits with no booking needed, and it also sells whole-area bookings for up to 10 people, from Rp1,500,000 for 6 to 7 AM to Rp6,500,000 for 6 to 9 AM.3,23 detikBali's 2024 list agrees on Rp25,000 and gives hours of 06:30 to 18:00 WITA.19

Tibumana gives the least paperwork. A cultural site says it welcomes visitors every day except Nyepi, from 6 am to 6 pm, and NOW! Bali describes a small shack at the car park that collects a IDR 10,000 contribution fee before a path with stairs of around 15 minutes to the waterfall.20,4

Nearby Blangsinga waterfall, in Saba village, Blahbatuh, was listed at Rp10,000 and the same 06:30 to 18:00 hours by detikBali.24 In 2016 Kanto Lampo asked only for a donation of Rp5,000 per person, a reminder that these are living tariffs, not fixed ones.25

Sekumpul and the north

A national news and features site reports Sekumpul open every day from 08:00 to 15:00 WITA, with a ticket of Rp10,000 for domestic visitors and Rp20,000 for foreign visitors, and parking at Rp5,000 for a car and Rp2,000 for a motorbike.5,26

The same report gives medium and long treks from Rp125,000 to Rp200,000 per person, guide included, and says the longer routes reach more hidden falls.27 One private day tour that visits the Sekumpul viewpoint states that going to the waterfall itself needs a trek and a guide at an extra fee of about Rp150,000 to 250,000 per person.

In November 2023 the Buleleng tourism office closed four unofficial ticket counters on the way, which charged domestic visitors Rp 300,000 and foreign visitors Rp 600,000.21,22 A gate fee in the tens of thousands is the reported norm, and a counter asking for hundreds of thousands is a sign to turn to your guide, or to your driver if you are travelling without one. Report a demand that looks like extortion to the tourism office instead of arguing at the roadside.

Temples and terraces on the same route

A waterfall day around Ubud often includes a temple, and the temples print their own tariffs. The tourism ministry's pilgrimage page lists the Tirta Empul entrance ticket at IDR 50,000 for an adult ticket and IDR 25,000 for a child, and says the purification ritual carries no special fee.13 The ministry's separate temple guide lists the same temple at Rp75,000 for adults and Rp50,000 for children aged 5 to 12.14

The two ministry pages disagree, which is an honest picture of how fees move, and a good reason to budget for the higher of the two. A sarong and sash can be rented there for around Rp10,000 to Rp15,000, and modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is expected at temples.28,29

Entry to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, a common add-on, costs IDR 130,000 for adults, and children pay IDR 100,000; it opens from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the last entry at 5:00 PM.18 The Goa Gajah cave temple is listed by the ministry at Rp50,000 for foreign adults and Rp25,000 for children.17

The levy, the ride and what a booking may cover

Visitors from abroad owe Bali's tourist levy, Rp 150,000 for each person and payable one time per trip; the payment is cashless, either online through Love Bali before you travel or at counters in the airport and port.6,12 It is separate from every gate fee on this page, and you may be asked for the receipt. The provincial Love Bali application implements it under a regulation on the levy for foreign tourists, which aims to protect Balinese culture and the natural environment.30

Getting around is its own cost. In Ubud town metered taxis and app pickups are not allowed, and the fare is settled with the local taxi cooperative.31 A tour with pickup removes that haggling from a waterfall day.

Whether the tickets are in the price depends on the option. One full-day Ubud listing warns that its half-day 6-hour option does not include entrance tickets, and a private waterfall day offers package A with all entry tickets included and no lunch, or package B with a buffet lunch added. Check the option name before you pay, and ask the operator in writing if the page does not say. Where tickets are not included, add them per person for every stop on your route, From the ticket booth to the temple.
